Ed is not
just an "in the office meteorologist"! The real tie-in was when he began flying into the eye of hurricanes
to determine how severe they really were with the Hurricane Hunters. He earned the coveted "Eye of the Storm"
award from Keesler Air Force Base in 1980. Since that time, he has flown into the eye of most major hurricanes in the
Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.
Ed Roy has numerous current ratings including: Airline Transport Pilot, Glider Rating, Multi-Engine
Land Rating, Instrument Rating and Single Engine Land Rating. He has logged over 13,500 hours of accident and violation-free
flight time in both single and multi-engine and jet aircraft as both pilot in command and instructor. Ed has instructed
hundreds of flight students and over the years has prepared these student pilots for entry level and advanced flight certificates.
On behalf of the FAA, Ed also conducts bi-annual flight reviews for pilots and serves as an FAA Aviation Safety Consulor.

After college, Ed Roy began a career in meteorology. He was the first meteorologist hired in Lafayette, Louisiana,
becoming the first, full-time broadcast meteorologist in the Acadiana area. Later, he became Meteorologist-in-Charge
at KATC TV-3. He was awarded "Best Weathercast in Louisiana" by the Associated Press and was a frequent contributor
to Paul Harvey News and Commentary. In the 1980's, Ed started the SkyTrak Radio Network and became the
Chief Meteorologist, covering nearly 20 radio stations in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. He later sold the company
and was retained as consultant for the next two years. He frequently served as a weather source for the Times
Picayune of New Orleans, the Morning Advocate in Baton Rouge and The Daily Advertiser in Lafayette.
Ed was a presenter at the First International Hurricane Conference in Biloxi, Mississippi. Ed has served as Guest
Cajun Meteorologist on KUSI's Morning Show, a nationally syndicated television show in San Diego. Ed
Roy joined the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now ULL) Debate Team while in college. As a result, he
became one of the best public speakers in America and is a great ambassador for the Cajun culture. His
experience in meteorology and as a public speaker further qualify him as an expert witness. He is great to have
